Ladybird Annual Sports Day March 7-9, 2010
Sports Day

All children performed splendidly at Ladybird’s Annual Sports Days last week. We had all kinds of fun races and activities. The children had stroller races around the witch’s hats having to be very careful not to tip the babies from the strollers. We had egg and spoon races, crawling through tunnel races, sack races, races on toy horses wearing cowboy hats, plus lots more. A lot of fun was had by all. Each child was presented with their very own medal – so they were all Winners!

Even the Mums and Dads joined in on the Mums and Dads races – no injuries to report, just good sports.

Well Done Children – you are all sporting champions in our eyes!

Teddy Bear Picnic February 10, 2010

The Ladybird children ventured out to Safa Park II on February 10, 2010 for their field trip this term. The weather was superb and lots of fun was had by all. All children brought their favourite Teddy Bears from home. We played Teddy Bear music, we read Teddy Bear books, some went on a Bear Hunt and others made full use of the fun and games we had brought with us. Most classes had made their very own Teddy Bear’s Hat –which the children wore proudly whilst eating their picnic….

The Big Red Bus comes to Ladybird... February 2, 2010
Family Green Fingers

There was much excitement throughout the Nursery with the arrival of the huge Double Decker Bus at Ladybird. The children squealed with delight at the sight of this old converted London bus. All classes went aboard throughout the day to engage in different activities. They sang songs, drew pictures, coloured in, read stories and even managed some dancing upstairs. Each class will be covering the topic of ‘transport’ in the upcoming term, so no doubt there will be a lot of discussion around the Big Red Bus.

Much fun was had by all!

Opening of Reading Majlis January 26, 2010

In December we opened the very special reading Majilis. The teacher have been using this very comfortable majilis to read to the children with the story sacks. We are also in the process of setting up planter boxes (in this area) for each class to grow and look after their own flowers and/or vegetables. The weather is so glorious at the moment the children are enjoying being outdoors as much as possible.

The "Family Green Fingers" Campaign January 20, 2010
Family Green Fingers

Ladybird Nursery has introduced The "Family Green Fingers" Campaign recycling project. We are asking for the children’s (and their family) involvement. Each class will take turns in finding something to recycle in the classroom. A recycling bin for paper is situated outside the office. We would like to see the children bring in old newspapers and paper from home. The children’s involvement and awareness is a great incentive toward making our planet a ‘greener’ place. We appreciate your involvement.

Ladybird goes "Smart" September 5, 2009
'First children's nursery in Dubai to deploy the 3M Digital Board'

Ladybird Nursery has tied up with 3M to become the first nursery in Dubai to deploy the latest digital technology for its students.  A 3M digital smart board has been installed and commissioned at Ladybird Nursery after an intensive summer training program which prepared the nursery to use the board for the benefit of its students.

The 3M digital board helps deliver information in an engaging, understandable and motivating presentation format.  As a result of the format, learning is transformed to an interactive experience allowing students to reach higher educational goals and increase their retention of learning while energizing them at the same time.

"With primary schools increasingly deploying this technology, we felt that it is only appropriate that children at our nursery familiarize themselves with the digital board.  There has been a lot of time and effort put into this by our nursery and we are really proud that the technology is in place at the start of our new year ", said Monica Valrani, Director at Ladybird.
